Of Ineke Keeps Forgetting to Post Stuff....

Now that I have completely neglected my blog, I shall post some of the work I have been doing over the past few months. Not all of it since I have lost track, but most!

This is a sculpture I carved of a crying moon
I made a stamp, and tried it out today.

This is one that I have been working on a while. It's planarians swimming in a swirly sea...

I love this painting...
Now for the last of my summer assignments...

I have a bunch of people fighting over who gets to buy this one...

Of Art Assignments, Long-necked Cats and Hennas

These past few months I have been working for around 3 hours a day on art assignments for the AP studio art class I will be taking when school comes around again. I am almost sick of them, but they are so much fun. I have 11 assignments, and I'm posting some of them.

These are my figure studies.
An acrylic painting of one of my friends
A chalk sketch of my cousin
These are the still lifes

Sorry it's crooked. A stuffed animal on a clock in pencil

A value study of the still life in cut paper

These are my nature studies

Tree number one which I hate

Tree number two which I love

Tree number three that I could care less about
Final piece combining the three trees which look nothing like the originals... you can tell I just loved this project...

This is my collage

It's not quite done yet.

This is a completed figure piece

Girl made of beans

clooooose up!
And one of my favorite projects.... the self-portrait!!

I am obviously not done with this one... it's in chalk pencil
This one is a collage
This is the horribly time consuming project, a lemon drawn with stippling dots.
Repeat after me: EEEEEEEKKKKKKK!!!!!!

It's actually going to look great though.
Yes, those are ALL tiny dots
And for all the meager amount of time I have leftover, I have taken up an obsession with cats. With long necks. Drinking tea.

very cute very cute...
Kitty tea party
And if you were wondering, yes that last one was drawn in a book.... I took an unwanted book and primed the pages so it is now a sketch book for me!

Random face from a few months ago that I forgot to post

I have become determined to be an expert at henna tattoos, but so far they have been epic fails.

The swirl was last weeks endeavor, the heart , yesterdays. Unfortunately, they are supposed to be brown. Better luck next time!!
I have made a beautiful collage of art on the hallway wall

Of Weird Faceless Creatures, Hermes and Fish

I only have four pieces of art to show for a whole month! I guess they have just been taking a long time:)

I finished my weird faceless creatures today, and I am pretty proud of it. It is a whopping 19 by 24 inches, my largest piece so far...
I don't know what to call it though.
My collage is coming along slowly, but it will be great when it's done.

Here's her face. everything is done except the shadows under her hair and the top of her ear. Then I will have to work on the hair and the background.
I finally have a picture of my drawing of the bust! I'm still not done though...
Mr. Hermes:)

My beautiful fish inspired me to draw one....
I took these photographs of my siblings and cousins, and they are so cute I want to make a collage. I HAD to put them on here!!!
I love the perspective and lighting in this one...

Of Profiles with Swirly Hair, Demented Giraffes and Fish

First off, I am going to show some photos I took of snow as a pleasant reminder of our life before springtime... I think they're pretty pictures:)

And now for the art!
Yesterday was highly productive in the art area.

Slightly odd man with a ring around him... coming out of his head. I think it was supposed to be Saturn!

Girl with swirly hair... drawn with charcoal.

Demented giraffe
This is my brothers favorite!
Here are some sketches that inspired those previous pieces.

I also started working on an acrylic of a face.

Here's a preliminary sketch
Here's what I'm working on!
On this next sketch I have no comment. I just laughed my head off and called it good. They are pretty cute!

I am progressing on my face-less colored beings...

And on another note....
I GOT A FISH!!!!!
For those of you who know me, my fish have a tendency to die rather quickly. But this one has survived for over a week!!

His name is Poseidon...

He is soo cute!

Soooooo cute...
Alright I'm done now.
